About This Role

**Roles and responsibilities:** The Manager Machine Learning Engineering (MLE) will lead a team of Machine Learning Engineers responsible for building, deploying, and operating large scale ML systems powering the Merlin platform. This role sits at the intersection of Data Science, ML engineering, platform reliability, and people leadership, with direct impact on production ML workflows used across content intelligence use cases. The role requires strong hands on technical depth, experience in designing Data science experiments, building production ML systems, as well as the ability to scale teams, processes, and platforms. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead end to end design and delivery of production grade Gen AI based Media processing systems that supports language localization capabilities like Closed Captioning, Language translation, or Dubbing. - Lead data science experimentation by designing experiments, defining success metrics, iterating on model improvements, and transitioning validated approaches into scalable production ML pipelines. - Own architectural design and evolution of ML services, APIs, and pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and extensibility for current and future localization use cases. - Drive model serving excellence, including release management, rollback strategies, performance monitoring, and cost optimisation of ML pipelines. - Establish and operate robust production evaluation frameworks, covering model quality, drift detection, inference performance, and system level metrics with and without ground truth. - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Machine Learning Engineers, setting clear technical direction, delivery standards, and career development paths. - Motivate, inspire and create a culture of experimentation and data-driven innovation while constantly striving to be an advocate for doing what is right for our customers **What to Bring:** - 12-15 years total experience with 3+ years of leading and managing a software development team (providing coaching, mentoring, setting goals, and recruiting talent) - Experience in designing machine learning driven, large-scale distributed systems with large scale customer base - Good practical knowledge in modern machine learning lifecycle. - Ability to technically collaborate with partners - Excellent written and verbal communications skills, be comfortable to contribute to technical documentation and on-call support - Experience with one of the cloud platforms AWS/GCP/Azure - Good understanding of machine learning platform **Preferred:** - Hands-on experience with Computer Vision, ASR or Text-to-Speech technologies. - Working experience with global teams - Data Modeling experience **What We Offer:** - A Great Place to work. - Challenging ML problems in Media Domain. - Equal opportunity employer - Fast track growth opportunities Disclaimer: This job posting has been aggregated from external source.
